I love memoirs about food; eating it, cooking it, or serving it。 Your Table is Ready is a fun fast paced account of front of house service。 There were few surprises about the wild lifestyles and antics by peole working in the food industry。 There were many people and places referenced that I simply didn't know, nor cared that I was missing out on a disclosed secret。 Pure entertainment。 I love memoirs about food; eating it, cooking it, or serving it。 Your Table is Ready is a fun fast paced account of front of house service。 There were few surprises about the wild lifestyles and antics by peole working in the food industry。 There were many people and places referenced that I simply didn't know, nor cared that I was missing out on a disclosed secret。 Pure entertainment。 。。。more

Prior to reading this book I genuinely didn’t know anything about the restaurant industry having never worked in it myself。 But I found this entire book so fascinating and loved reading about all of the different stories and experiences that were shared。 Super excited to hear about the restaurant he opens himself!

This is a fascinating insider's look at the restaurant business, especially high-end eateries in NYC。 The author has a long and varied career in the service industry, starting at the bottom and working his way to being a maitre d' hotel in NYC's finest。 Like Anthony Bourdain, he has a flair for writing about his experiences although I got a little weary of his crude and explicit descriptions of drug use and sex in the workplace。 I have to say his restaurant experiences aren't even close to what This is a fascinating insider's look at the restaurant business, especially high-end eateries in NYC。 The author has a long and varied career in the service industry, starting at the bottom and working his way to being a maitre d' hotel in NYC's finest。 Like Anthony Bourdain, he has a flair for writing about his experiences although I got a little weary of his crude and explicit descriptions of drug use and sex in the workplace。 I have to say his restaurant experiences aren't even close to what I experienced as an IHOP waitress! This is good for fans of Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain, and also for anyone who has read Service Included by Phoebe Damrosch and The Fourth Star by Leslie Brenner。To be published on December 6, 2022。 Thanks to the publisher for early access to the digital review copy。 。。。more

I was excited for a tell-all of the rich and famous from the POV of a maitre d'hotel。 And while there are glimpses of these stories this is really more of a memoir about a man's career ladder climbing while sprinkling in what seemed to be the same story told with new embellishments and descriptions each time。 I found it to be quite boring and repetitive。Thanks to Netgalley and St。 Martin's Press for access to an e-ARC of this book。 My thoughts are my own。 I was excited for a tell-all of the rich and famous from the POV of a maitre d'hotel。 And while there are glimpses of these stories this is really more of a memoir about a man's career ladder climbing while sprinkling in what seemed to be the same story told with new embellishments and descriptions each time。 I found it to be quite boring and repetitive。Thanks to Netgalley and St。 Martin's Press for access to an e-ARC of this book。 My thoughts are my own。 。。。more

I was looking forward to this book to read about instances where he may have served famous people, or have funny or extreme events occur。 The book, to me, was simply the story of how he rose through the restaurant industry。 While well written, it did not hold my interest at all。Thank you NetGalley for providing this copy。 The opinion here is solely my own。

This is a must read for any restaurant goer, especially those living or dining in New York。 Michael Cecchi-Azzolina provides a vibrant look at his life helping manage famous restaurants。 From Tennessee Williams to the current pandemic, Michael provides anecdotal stories that shine a light on the customer as well as the workings of great restaurants。 Best yet, Cecchi-Azzolina provides a fascinating tale of his upbringing in old New York。 I loved every bit of this story and hope you will too。 If y This is a must read for any restaurant goer, especially those living or dining in New York。 Michael Cecchi-Azzolina provides a vibrant look at his life helping manage famous restaurants。 From Tennessee Williams to the current pandemic, Michael provides anecdotal stories that shine a light on the customer as well as the workings of great restaurants。 Best yet, Cecchi-Azzolina provides a fascinating tale of his upbringing in old New York。 I loved every bit of this story and hope you will too。 If you love a great restaurant, celebrity gossip, or just want to learn a bit more about the machinations of a popular restaurant, Your Table Is Ready is for you! #STMartinsPress #YourTableIsReady! 。。。more

Wow! I must say that, in reading some of the reviews of this book, I am left very confused。 Why do people have to insist on putting their personal biases onto the life experiences of an author? The book is full of fascinating tidbits about all of our favorite stars! I think the point of the book is to recognize the growth of the author。 The culture of the restaurant industry is not his fault, he simple lived through it。 I'm sure that, like most of us, if he had the chance to do it over, he would do it much differently。 I honestly could not put this book down! I hope the author has success if he does decide to open his own restaurant。 Although, I bet after reading about themselves, some of the "celebrities" will not be visiting (here's looking at you, Anna Wintour)! 。。。more
